Featured Post: About Me

New posts are below!

Smells Like Rain is my personal site and blog with visitor content. After being too busy and uninterested to blog, the site was rarely updated. Between working on my other sites and tending to other things in life, I am finding time to revamp this site. Content aside from the blog is currently down until I go through and figure out what will be completely removed and what will stay and be redone.

I'm Ambrosia, a twenty-two year old from Southern California. This blog started back when I was in high school (most of those posts are gone, but I may open them back up at a later time), after keeping a blog on diary sites for a few years. A lot has happened over the years.

So, today's Noel's birthday, and we went to his parent's house for a couple of hours. During Christmas day and the day after, we went out of town to visit his family so they could see Aaliyah. Well, tonight we were watching the video that was taken from that day. After trying to hide my embarrassment in seeing myself (I hate seeing myself on camera, I always see my flaws), he switched tapes. He put in the wrong video, but we watched it anyway. It was from Noel's birthday party, in 2005. Exactly three years ago. My first thought was, Wow, I love the way my hair was. What happened? Damn it, I'm going to take better care of it and grow it out. My next thought was about my weight. What's funny is that I recalled my New Years Resolution in 2004 being to lose weight. I was happy I did a great job on the first day, and then ruinned on the second, Noel's birthday party. I remember telling Noel that I didn't want to eat any cake because of my diet, and he and his friends laughing at me for thinking I needed to loose weight. Here I am now, three years later, and I envy the older me, weight wise (and hair wise!). :shifty: I wish I had a clip from that video to view everyday. I KNOW that would inspire me to keep my game up. I mean, I could take pictures of celebrities and other people I want to shape my body like, but I AM the best motivation for myself.

Noel and I spent the second day out of town in Hollywood, like we used to. At first I felt bad for not taking LeeLee, especially when there was a guy dressed up as Elmo on the street, but it had suddenly became cold, and I was glad I didn't. We had fun, though.

All hell broke loose Sunday morning. I'd prefer not to talk about it, but Noel seriously needs some anger management before we can be completely cool again.

I say the 28th is the day Aaliyah officially learned how to crawl. Before that, she just managed to move backwards, but despite being a bit slow at moving and doing it in her own way, she's got it. Which means she's also got EVERY. LAST. THING. she has no business touching. When I was on the floor and adding my old hard drive to my newer computer, she ignored all her Christmas toys around her and went to my open CPU. I moved her over, so she went for my mail (she loves destorying papers). Right now she's in my lap because I'd prefer it if she didn't go after cords from the computer. Lol. Which reminds me, on her birthday and next Christmas, she's not getting very many toys. She ignores them and likes to play with things that really aren't meant to be toys. :hehe:

No Baby Yet!

No baby yet. Thursday, April 19th, is my due date, but I'm sure I'll be late. I would just hate to be induced. She seems really comfy in there, but I'm sure not, lol.

I'm almost done with the new layout. I would have had it up days ago, but I haven't been up to doing any web design. I've been sleeping and cleaning, that's basically it. :dead: The living room was so close to being completely clean that I slowed down so I could have something to clean tomorrow, lol.

Eh. It's 3am (time to roll around in bed for two hours until I fall alseep). I just thought I'd do a quick update to let you guys know that I'm still pregnant. :p Doctor's appointment tomorrow! Hopefully I'll hear news that I may be closer than I think. One minute I'm excited and can't wait, the next I'm scared out of my mind. :dizzy:

Just... Blah.

The wisdom of Homer Simpson: "Forty seconds? But I want it now!"

I'm too mad  / upset :angry2: / tired 8O / sleeply :dead: to sit here and blog without ranting. I have a post I started, but I'm not going to post it. So, let me take a break and try again.

The Blogathon went well and was fun. Due to needing to get up at 6:30am for work, I only stayed until about 1:40am.

My youngest brother had his birthday :bday: yesterday and we went out of town for a few hours. I really wanted to save my money :dollarsign:, but as soon as I withdrew $140 from my bank, $60 of it went to my brother. :shifty: I spent almost/about $80 of it at Best Buy. I grabbed a DDR game for $30, and the cheapest DDR mat for another $30. :shoppingcart: I've been meaning to get it for a while to start working out, but I haven't found much better deals online, either. The one I have actually has a workout mode, tracks the calories I burn, keeps a workout diary, etc. It's great. Oh, and then I paid another $15 on a DVD (The 40 Year Old Virgin, lol, I love that movie). I mainly focused on the computer monitors and computer desks. The only good thing about the monitor I have now is that it's big, it's just... Big. Lol. I mean, the screen size is great, but the overall size of the monitor is terrible. The only reason it was used in place of the new monitors that came with other computers is because of the screen size. I probably would have ended up with the monitor that came with the last computer my mom got, but one of my brothers took a magnet to this one so my mom let me take this one (my computer didn't come with one). I don't know if it's the age, or the fact that it's dealt with me for so long, but sometimes this monitor won't communicate with the computer when I first turn it on or it goes into standby and I attempt to turn it back on. I think that's a good enough reason to buy a 19" LCD monitor, am I right? :computer:

I've been in a PMSy mood (the angry part) since late yesterday evening. The thing is, I KNOW it's not PMS. :punch: I haven't been so pissed off at Noel in a long time, but the thing is, he didn't do much. Yeah, I felt ignored and it pissed me off, but not as much as it should have. Even when I woke up this morning, I was still a bit mad. Despite the strong feeling to do so, I didn't fuss, cuss, or argue. I just ignored him and kept what I did say to a minimum. Maybe it was a mixture of being tired and the heat that was getting to me? Or just not wanting to be social? I'm so glad I didn't go into work when they tried to call me in. That would have been TERRIBLE.

I planned on sleeping as soon as Noel dropped me off today, yet I forced myself to try the DDR. Wow, did I get my ass kicked! :hehe: Oh well, it was fun. I think it's perfect. I need to exercise, and I love video games. I still feel it in my legs. :) I just need to start doing crunches again. My arms are fine, thanks to work. My tummy's the worst part of me.

Next up on my list :notebook: of domain things to do, I'm going to upgrade PurrPose. Oh, which reminds me, I need to add in all of my pictures from the Blogathon. I'll do that now. :)

Plugs (thank ya' kindly! ... I'll return the favor!)
