Smells like Rain

I guess since Aaliyah started popping teeth late, she's making up for it now. Her third one on the bottom is almost done, and last night I noticed she finally has a top tooth popping through! She was sitting on my lap, talking to me (I have no idea what about, lol) and I noticed something white on her gums. It looked too big to be a tooth, so I thought maybe she ate something that was too hot at her grandparent's house (on Noel's side) or ate something she was allergic to. I gently touched it and stopped being paranoid when I noticed it was just a tooth. She's also loving pizza right now. I did let her chew a bit of crust at her birthday party, and I have let her taste pepperonis, but a few weeks ago Noel and I had our backs turned for not even five seconds and she opened the pizza box, took a slice, and was running away with it (she wasn't even hungry, she had JUST ate). My mom told me she ate a slice of pizza at her house a couple of days ago, so it's all good. I'm thinking about where we're going out to eat today, assuming Noel's coming here straight after work. We'll probably end up at Del Taco.

I've been craving peanut butter cookies for the last few days now. The Toll House cookies are wonderful, but I try to stay away from those unless they're on sell since they're so damn expensive. I'm probably going to end up baking some from scratch tonight. I really do enjoy cooking and baking more than going out to eat, but only when I have time. The blender I purchased a few weeks ago has been getting a lot of use, and I love making my own smoothies from home with fresh ingredients.

I'm off to go get ready to eat out, and to stop Aaliyah from pulling the clothes off the couch... Again. She thinks it's funny when I tell her to stop and I go and pick it back up again. *sighs*

Edit: I'm working on a new layout. Let's see if I remember how to do more than the basic HTML codes, lol.

Happy Fourth of July!

I just gave LeeLee a bath in the kitchen sink (she has a baby bathtub, in fact, she used to have three, but the sink is always quick and easy). My mom, along with other sources (magazines and Internet), said that a bath before bed would help her sleep. I thought it would be quick and easy, only now I have to mop up the floor. It was a quick bath, but she loved it.


I think she's about to pop another tooth since her mouth has been bothering her a lot more lately. Now that the first two are almost completely out, they do not bug her as much. In fact, she was getting to be that happy girl she used to be before her teeth started to really come in. Now she's angry with the world some days.

Work... It's bad enough I didn't get the position (even though I've been doing the tasks of that position since July, and STILL AM even though this guy doesn't do half of what I do), but now there's a rumor our store might close. I live in a pretty small town, compared to most in Southern California, and we just got a "99 Cent Only" store across the street from my store. I knew it would hit the Dollar Tree hard (earlier this week a customer said she went in there around 11am and they hadn't had ONE customer), but now we're starting to feel it. For one, we were told that their location is one they were offered for my store before they picked the current location. It's a great location, and our current one is pushed back and hidden, so people come in there from time to time JUST discovering the store has been there for over two years. Two, when people hear, $0.99, all they think is $0.99. It doesn't matter that while our head of lettuce may be ten cents more, it's a lot bigger. $0.99 just sounds better. While our dozen eggs cost $1.69, their eggs may be $0.99, but it's only HALF a dozen. Sucks. Plus, they don't sell meat there, and while I hate my job, I'd still shop there even if I didn't work there. The guy who started the rumor probably wasn't supposed to say anything; however, he has a thing about always needed to talk about something (or someone). He came to visit with our bosses to discuss how to boost sales, but I have a feeling that after their little six month plan will hardly last six months, and then we'll be shut down. The last time one of our stores was shut down was just a few months ago, and the employees there only had two weeks notice. Sorry, but it takes months to get a job, and I have bills and a baby to care for. The hell with that. I was already job searching after I found out they screwed me over with this job promotion, but now I'm REALLY looking.


If I would have known, I wouldn't have spoiled myself with a PS3. I have enough money saved up that I could probably not work for a few months and be fine, but I'd like to have some saved away just in case. I should be happy I wasn't promoted. I was hoping for a promotion so I could move into a bigger place. Now that I'm aware for possible plans, I'm glad I didn't since the place my be closed.

Lol. LeeLee loves watching George Lopez. At least I don't have to watch Elmo for the fifty-eleventh time this week.
